Mission
Our mission is to provide for the unmet healthcare needs of Cumberland County
residents through Assistance, Referral, and Education
Vision
Better Health of Cumberland County was founded in 1958 with a vision to impact
the quality of life for all Cumberland County residents, through a commitment
to improving access and availability of health care services for the underserved,
low-income resident.
Organization
Better Health of Cumberland County, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization
founded in 1958. A board of 18 directors that reside or work in Cumberland County
oversee the operations of this agency. Better Health has an Executive Director
and Administrative Assistant/Case Manager. Registered nurses conduct the diabetes
monitoring and education clinics. Diabetic programs and community health events
are directed by the Health Education Coordinator. Better Health relies heavily
on volunteers to accomplish our mission. Better Health is a United Way Partner
Agency.
